After reading the speech, I think a lot of conservatives are needlessly worried (which isn't something I often say when it comes to President Obama). It is, for the most part, politically benign and even fairly inspiring. I don't consider Obama to be a good role model for my kid (nor was Bush, nor is any politician I can think of), but there is nothing in his speech I'd consider inapropriate.

Just the same, I'll be surprised if our school has a mandatory viewing. And that really doesn't bother me much either.
